Bobby_Mac Posted September 17, 2010 #28 Share Posted September 17, 2010 Now you all have me thinking. What are the odds I won't make it for the whole cruise? If I'm feeling lucky (depends on your view) I could run up a huge gambling and drinking bill just in case I don't make it. That would be fun! Ah, my luck it will be a few months after I get bill the paid off, that is if I don't die from shock when I open the statement and see how much fun I had. Ah Bobby Mac, put in your will that you want to do one last cruise after you are gone in the beer cooler of casino bar. Hey we will have beer on you and through casino chips on the top of the cooler in your memory! Better than flowers!. Just don't freak us all out as we are celebrating in your memory and reach for the chips much less hand us a beer!
onthehighseas606 Posted September 17, 2010 #33 Share Posted September 17, 2010 Heck she paid for the cruise they better just take her on the cruise! The cost would be astrinomical to get her home from a port. After all the passengers got off they should have a car pick her up and deal with it from there. :( that would suck. I hope she had trip insurance!
Max Circus Posted September 17, 2010 #34 Share Posted September 17, 2010 One of the things you get to see on the "Behind The Fun" tour is the morgue ! At least we saw it on Conquest..... Wow!! Carnival really does have the Fun Ships. A tour including the morgue is always guaranteed to get everyone into the vacation mood.
summercruising Posted September 17, 2010 #35 Share Posted September 17, 2010 [/font We just got home from our Carnival Inspiration cruise. It was wonderful except a woman down the hall from us died. It was early in the cruise but I wouldn't think they would fly her body home would they? I was on the same deck a good way from her room down the hall. I didn't know she had passed. Last I'd heard she was in a coma. That is so sad. I feel so badly for her family. The crew was very quiet about it and said it just wasn't as serious as we all thought. I guess they were trying to protect her privacy and also not ruin our cruise.
vacation_junkie Posted September 17, 2010 #36 Share Posted September 17, 2010 They have special accomodations for the dearly departed. You can view it here. Hey - if you die before the first non-US port of call, can your estate invoke the Vacation Guarantee? It would be a shame to lose those cruise days just because you die! Thanks for my morning Chuckle :D Much needed today!
vacation_junkie Posted September 17, 2010 #37 Share Posted September 17, 2010 took the behind the scenes tour on the Dream. There is a morgue on the Dream. There is room for 3 bodies. Oh...we are thinking of doing the behind the scenes tour when we are on the Dream in January! What days are it on?
UKBayern Posted September 17, 2010 #38 Share Posted September 17, 2010 I once read an article by a person who was employed as a piano player on a cruise ship, and his cabin was next to the morgue. Good place if you ask me... neighbors are usually quiet. The neighbours don't complain about the piano practice either...
Crusin6 Posted September 17, 2010 #39 Share Posted September 17, 2010 a freezer- not the freezer. There is no way that they would be allowed to use the food freezer. he was joking...even I got it!:D
auburn77 Posted September 17, 2010 #40 Share Posted September 17, 2010 My wife is an RN. On one cruise I suggested that she might get a job in the infirmary on a ship to pay for our cruise. She gave me one of those looks and said "you know this ship has a morgue!"

arthierry Posted September 17, 2010 #46 Share Posted September 17, 2010 There is definitely a morgue on all ships. I knew of it, but it was confirmed when I'd taken the BTF tour on the conquest. There was also a jail across from the morgue.
bankerbabe Posted September 17, 2010 #47 Share Posted September 17, 2010 Heck, if I die on a cruise ship, just stick some flowers in my butt and throw me overboard. That would be a very inexpensive funeral. And then, please find my husband a very sweet but pretty blonde. I wouldn't want him to be lonely. My only requirement is that she's nice to the kids.
