We are on Celebrity 1/8 and are hoping to snorkel at each of our ports. We're looking for Buck Island trip w/most time in water. (we were there 26 yrs ago) Any reccomendationd for St. Kitts, Dominica, Grenada and Tobago. We know for sure that we don't want to see underwater sculptures and champagne beach sounds fun. It might be fun to take a boat trip or 2, but we don't want to spend the day sailing around and drinking! We're up for snuba or a very easy dive. Thanks

You definitely want to snorkel at Champagne Reef in Dominica. If you have never been to Dominica, I recommend you do a combination island tour with the last stop being at Champagne Reef. The island is so full of natural beauty (lush and green, waterfalls, hot sulpher springs). We have done tours through the ship and the last two times we were there we used Beno of Beno Tours for a private tour. Highly recommend Beno. Last time we just had him take us to Champagne Reef and wait a few hours there for us and return us to the ship. Champagne Reef is in an out of the way place and it may be difficult (and expensive) to get a taxi back to the ship if you are desperate and they know you need to get back. Also, some people have arranged for a taxi to return to pick them up before paying the driver, and the driver still did not show up because he found a better deal after he dropped the people off (such as doing an all day island tour).

You could have Beno take you to Trafalgar Falls and the Screws sulpher springs and that way you will get to see some of the island....then have the last stop be at the Champagne Reef. There is not a beach there. The admission was about $2.00 per person and they have a few food items and soft drinks for sale there. There are changing facilities and then you walk on a boadwalk area for about 75-100 yards and put your things down on a rocky area, step over the rocks and the reef is about 20 feet after you enter the water....make sure you wear water shoes since the rocky area can hurt your feet. Snorkeling there is wonderful.

You will love Dominica! It is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean!!
