Cunard Line will tonight unveil a new portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, specially commissioned to hang on the 90,400-ton, 2,092-passenger Queen Elizabeth. The Queen will name the new ship in Southampton on October 11. Read more and see the painting.

The current Cunarder has an interesting view on this portrait of Queen Elizabeth, In addition to a portrait of HM, They have also commissioned David Linley to create a wood marquetry of the original RMS Queen Elizabeth for the ship. So she will have two portraits. One, the Living Queen, and two, the historic ship.

 

Linley is a very accomplished wood working organization who make furniture and other items using well established woodworking techniques. His furniture and designs are quite interesting.
