Cargo ships anchored off Mackay??

Have been looking for Pacific Dawn off Airlie Beach today on the ship tracking website http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/# . No sign of her - don't know whether her equipment isn't working or there is no shore based AIS receiver in that vicinity??

 

Anyway - something else I have noticed is a whole heap of cargo ships anchored off Mackay - but none off Gladstone. Is that right?? It is not what I would have expected. Isn't Gladstone the big industrial port ?? Why are they all at Mackay??

 

EDIT --- WOOPS - posted this to the wrong Forum - meant to post to the P&O Australia forum. Most of you lot probably wouldn't know where Gladstone and Mackay are !! :) :)
