sassy12 Posted September 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2010 I've found what the weather averages are in Galveston and Barcelona in May but am wondering about the TA crossing leaving May 1. Any help would be appreciated.
Atomica Posted September 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2010 Weather should probably be pretty good during the crossing. Since you're going from Galveston to Barcelona, you're on a more southerly route that wouldn't be as cool as, say, a crossing from NY to Southampton. I'd expect it to be cooler overall - if only because the ship is moving and you're at sea - during the crossing. As always though, weather can be unpredictable and change at the drop of a hat! sopo1953 Posted September 27, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 27, 2010 My DH and I did the trans-atlantic crossing from Ft. Lauderdale to Barcelona last May and had great weather and calm seas. We were pleasantly surprised and it made us want to do the same cruise every spring. Have a great trip and bring an umbrella with you for when you get on shore. Hopefully you won't need it but it is a lot less expensive than buying one from the vendors that rush the bus. Also some large ziplock bags to hold port maps. sassy12 Posted September 28, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted September 28, 2010 Thanks for the info. Guess we won't be needing many capris. Always pack an umbrella and rain gear as well as zip lock bags so that won't be a problem. Can't wait for May 1st!
