Conquest Missed Jamaica Today

Just thought I'd share this with ya'll.

Mach posted on the Carnival Funville thread that the Conquest had to say Adios to Jamaica this morning. :( The Captain made 3 attempts to dock, without success, had 50-60 knot winds.

So back out to sea, here's hoping for a better day in the Caymans tomorrow.

Bummer! The news just said that Jamaica was getting plummeted with rain!

Yep, several folks onboard reported in saying the seas were very rough, the barf bags were out and the balconies were "soggy".

The Deck Party last night had to be moved into the Casino Bar area......bet that was crowded.

I still bet the Crazies had a good time though!:D

Awww! We missed Jamaica when we sailed on the Conquest because someone had to be airlifted off the ship. Hopefully the passengers on today's sailing are good-spirited about it and don't start petitions and near-riots like on our sailing.

One of our Crazies said there were some upset people onboard, but what do you do, can't change Mother Nature.

The webcams from the Caymans do not look good, the Conquest is suppose to dock there at 7am tomorrow.

All that ugly stuff is suppose to be over Key West/ Miami tomorrow and on up to the Carolinas by the weekend. So the last couple of days for the Crazies might be good. But it's been a soggy week in the Western C.

If MoBay was that difficult, there is no way that they are going to be going to Cayman in the morning....I will be on the conquest next week....looks good for us....so far

Exactly, two weeks ago I thought the tender boats were tossing a lot and it was GREAT weather!

I saw on the Weather channel at about 6:30 am central a "whale tail" during their broadcast about the weather this morning. I haven't seen a post about this --- any idea what ship was in the Bahamas - I assume Nassau this morning.

This is the latest post from Mach onboard the Conquest...

Aloha, folks!!

Well, conditions haven't improved in the least. The seas appear to be 16 to 18 at the moment and the spray from the bow is blowing horizontally past my balcony, midships on the Upper Deck. It's a pretty fair blow.

We had a movie in the Toulouse Lautrec Lounge, 'It's Complicated', not too bad, some pretty good laughs.

Of course, the pools are drained as the water was sloshing about pretty good but I can't say that I've seen anyone much worse the wear for the motion of the ship. The bars are packed.

We got a letter in our cabin announcing that we were being credited $9.74 for the taxes. The letter also details that we are headed directly to Grand Cayman, which takes us directly into the weather. Probably a good idea as a determination can be made about tendering there early perhaps allowing us two days at Cozumel.

Tonight 26 of us will be dining at the Point for dinner. Should be fantastic, as always.

I'll try to get some pictures of the conditions and post them here a bit later in the day.

I loved that movie. Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep were great. Probably won't go down as one of the great classics, but could certainly take the sting out of a rainy day.:)

The risks you take when you choose to cruise the Caribbean in the fall.

It's a risk you take no matter when you sail. Cruisers need to understand that and be ready to go with the flow in spite of their understandable disappointment.
