IslandSliderGirl Posted October 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2010 Our first cruises were with Carnival and it got us hooked on cruising. However, we have never been fans of dining with strangers so our last few years we have cruised with NCL due to their Freestyle choice for dining. This will be the first time back to Carnival since they introduced Anytime Dining. Has anyone had the opportunity to experience both NCL Freestyle dining and Carnival Anytime dining and how would you compare the two choices? Thanks! NCL automatically seats your party on its own most of the time. Carnival will ask if you want to dine alone or share. There were just 2 of us. If your party is larger, they will probably not ask as most tables were set up for 2 or 4. Larger tables were available and of course they will move and re-arrange tables to accommodate larger parties. At lunch in the MDR, Carnival usually likes to use the larger tables but if you wish to sit alone, you will be accommodated. IMHO, the MDR food is much better on Carnival so a better experience.:) Welcome back and enjoy!
lillian marie Posted October 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 2, 2010 They are very similar programs and I agree that CCL has superior food. We are also not big fans of dining with strangers--it's a hit or miss--you may enjoy your tablemates or have rude folks.
