Single supplement on Oceania?

We are going on a Princess repositioning cruise soon which starts in Quebec, which is about 40 degrees now. I can't wait to get out of the Florida heat - although the cruise ends in Florida, about 10 miles from home.

Nothing I can add to Lyn's or Rickey's or Jan's excellent examples.

Fact: the single person does NOT pay exactly 200% of the fare including air -- that would be paying for a airline seat never used. The single ALWAYS gets at least the air credit for the "other"person not in the cabin. Thus, the fare is actually 200% of the NON-AIR fare, plus the included air for one person.

Additionally, a single ALSO has the option of dropping included air entirely, meaning that the first seat on the plane is ALSO credited, meaning that the total cruise fare is 200% of the non-air fare.

Boiled down to its most basic level, it means that a single is paying the same price as a double occupancy, except when it comes to air.

{EDIT} It IS a bit confusing -- which is why it pays to have travel agents who know EXACTLY how things work, and place yourself in their hands, even if they don't offer the absolute lowest price. You save yourself heartache, and may even save more money than with an agent who gets things wrong.

Don, another foopah. Didn't mean 200% on the airfare, just the cruise portion. I'm bad!
