Hotels in Galveston, TX

We are sailing on Voyager of the Sea 01/16/11 doing a back to back.

Has anyone stayed at a hotel/motel near the port in Galveston, or stayed at one that had accommodations for leaving our car and a ride to the port.

The close hotels to port and terminal are Tremont and Harbor House.

Car can be left there however the Tremont may use the Harbor House or Galvez parking facilities since they are commonly owned and commonly operated.

You actually can walk about 3 blocks to terminal from Tremont or Harbor House Hotels except for nature and extent of your packing and walking comfort?

Or drive in car bags and partners to terminal and return to either hotel and walk back to terminal.

Call hotels for more better information.

All the other hotel/motels are just a two or more miles from terminal anyway and on the Gulf side or bay side of island. Everything is close!!

You need to decide if you want to stay on

Gulf of Mexico Beach Area (many hotels)

Historic Old Town Strand Port Area(2 above)

Bayside Area (1) Moody Gardens Hotel

Habor House is your best bet. It is right on the pier and you can see your ship as it comes into port that morning. There is no free parking here but you can keep your car at the Harbor for a nominal fee. We use EZCruise Parking for $50 a week. It is secured and your car will be safe here.
