Can anyone recommend a company for us to book prior to sailing.

 

1) Private 1/2 day tour of Dubai with English speaking Courier.

2) HOHO bus in Dubai.

 

Also which if any would you suggest is the best way to look around.;)

only did a 1/2 day tour.

I did not use them as I thought they were expensive.

 

What we did was to make a list of things we wanted to do and see, then in Dubai we asked several drivers (testing their English and Dubai knowledge) before settling on one for the day. He waited while we went sight seeing and shopping (which was sometimes long).

We used taxis to get around Dubai last year before the cruise and used a ships tour at the end. On our own we visited the mall with the ski slope and watched them while eating lunch. The highlight of our time there was tea at the Burj Al Arab hotel in late afternoon....I'm still paying for that one!

I know what you mean about the Burj Al Arab!

 

After our visit there last year, I promised DW that I return to pick her up in 2011 after she has finished with washing the dishes. :D

We have used a private tour guide, who "designed" a special tour for us, with the highlights we had chosen up front and some more suggestions from her, showing us a different side of the town. We also asked her to develop a similar tour in Abu Dhabi, when the ship called there a day later; which she did very well, too. i arranged a private car and driver through the hotel i was staying at. cost was something like $75 US for a half day. dropped me off at the ship when i was done.
