Canne12 Posted February 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2005 Be sure and check prices- sometimes in cheaper to get a second cabin instead of paying the extra person charges!
Littlegoo75 Posted February 19, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2005 It's small enough for 2 people, I couldn't imagine 5 people unless it was a suite, the Elation seems cheap enough, that it probably won't be that bad to get 2 cabins.
jeremyh Posted February 19, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2005 How does 5 in a room work? I did some searches on future cruises for 5 in a room and it never returned any availability.. Our 3rd child is on the way so I'm just planning for the future. :D
lilmsonry Posted February 19, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2005 Talked to carnival today and booked 5 in 1 room. Two pull down beds, 2 twin pushes together to make king, and 1 rollaway bed. I forgot to ask the square footage, but oh well, coziness is just going to be it;)
GayleR Posted February 19, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 19, 2005 I believe the cabins are 185 sq. ft. We've done 5 in a cabin. It's definitely tight when the rollaway is unfolded, but other than that, we were fine.

GayleR Posted February 20, 2005 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2005 You can also book Destiny class ships. It's the Spirit and Conquest ships that won't allow you to book more than 4 in a room. New rule.
Happy ks Posted February 20, 2005 #10 Share Posted February 20, 2005 It's not so much of a space problem, when you are sleeping. The biggest problem is 5 people sharing the same bathroom. With just the 4 of us sharing (never again) I have found that you sometimes have to hightail it to a public bathroom, big hassle.

milesaway Posted February 20, 2005 #12 Share Posted February 20, 2005 We've booked a room on the Elation for 3/13 with 4 people and presume it will be fine since only one of those people is a teenage girl. any more than 1 teenager and the rest of the crew would have to share a neighbor's bathroom! ha ha. If your family members are older, see if you can get adjoining rooms with bunk beds - those rooms are very reasonable in price. We tried to get an adjoining room for the kids, but they were all sold out. there are some age restrictions to that but it's a great idea and not any more expensive than sharing the room.
