Modena Posted October 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2010 We are from the UK and have just realised that we will be on the Independence when it is Thanksgiving in the US. Do RCI usual do anything special to celebrate Thanksgiving on board?

Alexis Posted October 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2010 Not really, they will have turkey and fixings and lots of kiddos. That is about it. :D There will be Turkey and lots of families on board. Depending on whether you are in a port that day, there could be many places closed. EDIT:Just looked and you are not sailing in US so that won't happen. ;) We were sailing US port on Thanksgiving.

BaumD Posted October 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2010 If you are at a port OUTSIDE of the USA, it will be a regular Thursday as Thanksgiving is only celebrated in the USA.
macbasset Posted October 17, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 17, 2010 We have done lots of thanksgiving cruises and they are great. Usually, during the end of the week, they start putting up the Christmas decorations on board.
sjcruiser Posted October 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2010 Christmas decorations start going up Thanksgiving night after dinner sometime. We were in the Nassau during that week, and people were starting to buy Christmas trees. We saw them on top of cars/mini-vans, but never saw the tree lot/store.
