SailingDoug Posted February 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2005 No the windows do not open. The only thing that opens to the outside is the Bal. door. But you can sit in your room and look out the window.
hstrybuf Posted February 19, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2005 Sorry to disappoint your DH but no, they don't open. ;)
JrMafia90 Posted February 19, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2005 No they don't open, but a Carnival PVP told us they did. She said she was on the ship and she opened them. I still cannot believe this, I know she had to be lying.
WazAnOkie Posted February 19, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2005 Sorry, they dont open, but they still allow you to see out. We have had oceanview and balconies, and have enjoyed both. Heck, even inside cabins are still way better than going to work!
JudyKa Posted February 20, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2005 Everybodys' reply is correct....on the Conquest the windows don't open. However, they are large enough to enjoy the view with a really deep sill. My 24 y. o. daughter can actually sit in the window reclining on the sill slightly. She loved it...lol....24 going on 12...ya know.
Cruisemaiden Posted February 20, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted February 20, 2005 Thanks to everyone for the reply...I won! I told him the windows don't open...I didn't remember opening them on other cruises.... After 25 years...maybe my hubby thought I was going to throw him out the window!! LOL!:)
derf5585 Posted February 20, 2005 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2005 When I was in the USNavy I was the Damage Control Petty Officer. My job was to make sure the ship was watertight. Now if a window near the waterline opened. Need I say more?
popcorngal Posted February 20, 2005 #10 Share Posted February 20, 2005 Years back on the Sagafjord, we had portholes that I think actually did open. Never tried it, but when we were in rough seas, the crew came in and put porthole covers on them! Yep Derf, a leak would not have been good! kodiac Posted February 20, 2005 #11 Share Posted February 20, 2005 No the windows do not open. The only thing that opens to the outside is the Bal. door. I know two 30 year olds that fit in there comfortably on our first cruise. That was 44 lbs ago.
