jbone31 Posted October 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2010 I am looking for a recommendation for a snorkeling spot that we can hit just walking in from the beach. My kids are younger (12,11,9 and 6) so easy access is the key. A good beach location would be nice too. Thanks in advance for any help.
laurieb Posted October 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2010 cheeseburger reef. very easy access, but it may be too far out for the youngsters. close to the downtown area. the beach areas on 7 mile beach are not good for snorkeling. Cemetary beach is on the north end of the beach, easy access and pretty nice beach.
caribsun Posted October 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2010 Take a mini bus to SeaGrape Beach. At this beach you can get chairs, food, drinks and a shower. Walk up the beach, away from the cruise ships about 300-400 yds and you will see rocks in the water. Snorkel near the rocks to get a good look at some fish. clackey Posted October 23, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2010 I would have to second Cheeseburger Reef. The access is easy there and at Cemetary Beach but I wasn't impressed with the snorkeling at Cemetary. What little reef that was there was a long ways from shore. I've seen good reviews on Eden Rock, but I don't know what kind of access they have.
runner15km Posted October 23, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 23, 2010 I would also go to SeaGrape area and snorkel. Cheeseburger could be a challenge for a 6 and 9 year old.
