canada line..its really close to the port...you walk out past the bus depot in Canada Place...does not look like its the exit past that point but it is...once on street level you go to the first road and hang a left...few hundred yards down...when we did it there was hoarding up so originally walked past the entrance to the sky train station...not well signed. bit of a pain with luggage but our were on wheels and the way is fairly smooth and level..bonus is its really inexpensive and you do not get stuck in traffic. run to the airport is about a half hour...google canada line and you can get maps of the route..it splits near the end and one train goes to the airport and the other to richmond..not too far to backtrack if you take the wrong one...somebody did a review on cruise critic of the whole process so search for that too

If you are referring to Amtrak to Seattle it is about 3 miles from Canada Place and a cab fare is about $10 or you can take SkyTrain which departs from Waterfront Station (which is the same station as the Canada Line) and you go to Main Street station...Pacific Station which Amtrak uses is right there...the cost $2.50 pp (CDN).

If you wish to go to the airport you can take the Canada Line from Waterfront Station to YVR Station, the travel time is 26 mins plus walking and waiting time. The cost is $3.75 pp (CDN).

With both SkyTrain and the Canada Line you do need to be able to handle all of your own luggage and have a reasonable degree to mobitlity.

Our ship (Diamond Princess) ends in Vancouver. I hate taking the Princess shuttles (waiting for the bus to fill) and would prefer to take the train. Does anyone know how far the station is from the cruise port? The cost? Any tips?

Thanks!

$3.75 weekdays, $2.50 weekends; what you're looking for is the CANADA LINE Skytrain line.

Exit Canada place, ignore the escallator you see on your left marked "Skytrain" (it leads to the platform for Expo&Millenium Line) and walk one block ahead to Cordova, turn left, and walk two blocks. On your left is large building, go in there and follow the signs. You buy tickets at the ticket machines (well marked), and you want "CANADA LINE" and board a train for "YVR AIRPORT". It's really straightforward.

If you can wheel your luggage through an airport, you'll have no issues taking Skytrain.
