Everyone's impression and experience is different for sure. DH & I have cruised with Josh 4x's now and love him. He has always been approachable and helpful.....and very funny.

I wouldn't think they would change the days. I'm positive it was Sunday/Bahamas day and Thursday night. What nights did others say?

 

We were on 10/9/10 and it was Bahamas night and Thursday night also-

I too didn't see much of Josh but was not overly impressed, my wife and I both felt he was our worst CD so far (I have 4 cruises, she has 5). There was nothing wrong with him, just didn't catch my fancy like the others we have had.

 

He wasn't our favorite either but in his defense it didn't look like he had much help either-:confused:

Just got off the dream and it was wonderful... I wasn't overly impressed with Josh myself. He was ok, but didn't keep us informed as I had been used to on other cruises.. No smell noted... Beautiful boat, buffet lines a little long on sea days, but not too bad. Burrito bar, deli, pizza, mongolian, pasta, were great.. The boat never seemed overly crowded. I was learly of some of the initial reviews, but i think alot of the stuff people that complain about some of the stuff are overly picky, and looking for anything to complain about. My only complaint was the the cell phone service.. 3 days we couldn't text or get out on our cell phone. One of the days was on the way back, we were in the florida straights, so we shouldn't have had any problem there.. We have verizon, and never had any problem on the glory at all.. I was surprized that on a newer ship we had that problem... Other that that, I couldnt see how many people could be disappointed in this beautiful ship.

The original CC review for Dream stated that the specialty Lido areas (Burrito, Mogolian Wok) were only open for a few hours around lunch time. Has this changed? Are these stations now available at more varied times?

 

they open at noon and close at 3:30 on port days and 2:30 for seas days

I am interested in how you got the case of beer on board. Did you have to get it through security? Did you have it in bags or in a box?

I know she's a monster, so how did you find lines for food, ability to get lounge chair, access to slides, etc etc. Basically what was your overall opinion on crowd-factor?

 

Also, did you get to check out the Adults only Serenity area? Is it still as wonderful as it looks online or was it packed the whole time?

the serenity area is great, we spent quite a bit of time there in the cabanas

 

food lines...they were among the worst lines I have ever seen. people would start lining up for lunch at 11:45 for the pasta bar and the wok

Hi, I'm thinking of booking the dream in March and would like to get a Cove Balcony room. Which room were you in? This may sound like a silly question but... When you were out on the balcony did you get wet? I see that the Cove's are very low and am worried about the water while cruising! :)

Can you give a little more info on room 1206 - it's where I'm spending my b2b Dream cruises in March 2011. Is there enough closet space? Hows the bathroom? Were the portholes decently clean so you could see out? Did you find a lot of motion? Did it seem like you were far away from everything?

It would be much appreciated.

I found the lines not a problem at all! Really. We never had to stand in a crazy-sized line on the Lido. We were surprised at that. The longest lines I'd ever seen was on [I]Carnival Destiny[/I] (and still read that in people's reviews).

I was also shocked to find lounge chairs by the pool any time we walked past that area. I don't care about laying specifically by the pool, but there were chairs there and I didn't see much evidence of chair-hogging. (Again, not saying it [I]wasn't[/I] there; I just didn't notice it as I have on other ships.)

Slides, no lines.

The spa was gorgeous. Made me wish I booked a spa cabin. The spa pass is $249 for the week. Unlike what I'd read here, they do NOT have day passes--I'd asked several times in our spa tour. They have so many things available to you for relaxation. I would love to go back and book a spa room.

we bought 2-12 packs and put them in a shopping tote we had bought at one of the stores for 3 for $10.00-toted them in and put them right through the scanner-we were shocked too-but happy!! lol

Hey Trisha-
Plenty of closet space- I think there was 2 that you hung clothes in and 1 for folded clothes-
Bathroom is kind of small but there is shelves to put stuff on-I think 3 or 4 on each side--
The portholes were pretty clean-
There wasn't any motion-but there was some noise-I think it was 2 nights we could hear the waves breaking on the front of the ship-but it wasn't so bad to ruin anything and wouldn't keep you up if you were tired-lol-it just took us awhile to figure out what it was--lol
You really dont feel like you are away from everything-you are a good ways from the back of the boat and that is where our dining room was but I just figured we were walking off some of the food we ate--lol--Hope you have a wonderful time--we did!!

I don't know who left the orignial review but both my husband and myself thought Josh was a great CD. We still keep in touch!
