Colon 3-7 pm

There are a few shops near the pier, but other than that Colon is not the place for you to head out on your own. Those times for the stop are very flexible as far arrival and departure. Since the main purpose for the stop is to pick up passengers who disembarked the ship earlier to take a land tour, they may not use entire four hours.

Agree with Bill, and since Cristobal is closed, it takes the ship longer to go out of the breakwater, then come around back to Home Port or Colon 2000. At Colon 2000, IMHO, it was always a zoo with all the tours getting back at the same time and long lines, in the sun and/or rain, to get back on the ship. I hope they have done something about this! The shops at Colon 2000 when I was last there were very so-so, and the only good thing was a big Super 99 where the crew could stock up.

The ship will wisely advise you not to leave the port area, not that there is anything to see if you do.

Regards, Richard

We are only in Colon from 3-7 pm. Anything to do?

Just dont go outside the pier area, there are a half a dozen shops or so to pick up some souvenirs, but I wouldnt venture outside here, also whatever you do, dont wast your time in that "tightwad" little casino. It is a rip off den, with seedy characters to boot! Colon was not one of my favorite ports of call, and that is a rare thing for me to say. Im sure there are nice things to see and do, but do so with a reputable tour operator or a ship's excursion. With only 4 hrs stopover, I would not think that there are many options for tours, but I could be wrong.:)
