St. Lucia questions

R&R sail again

Recommended Posts

We are cruising in the spring and I have been looking at the excursions. There is one in St. Lucia - Lightness of Being - Tram + Canopy = Tranopy

Has anyone taken this tour and what did you think of it? I am particularly interested in how strenuous it is and how hot it is apt to be for the hiking. Thanks for your help.

When I was there (in a January) I thought it was too hot to leave the ship. Fortunately, my tour involved mostly riding, so I was not too taxed. But I did leave the shelter to stand in the rain when a shower passed through!

I would think that even someone in good condition would have to take the heat into serious consideration before setting out on a hike.

Hi,

I suppose you mean taking the tram up the mountain and then going on the ZIP wire. My husband and me did this excursion via HAL on the Noordam last year. We enjoyed it very much, nice guide who pointed out many things (trees, flowers, birds,...) when going down with the tram. Only to get to the ZIP wire there is some walking involved to get to the first platform, and yes it is warm and humid (sun was shining when we were there) but the walk in under the trees in the shade. First it is going down but after the ZIP wire you have to go up and some people had to stop sometimes to catch their breath, but we had people of several ages in our group and everybody got there (in their own time). The guide stayed with the last people of the group, we waited until everyone was back to the platform to take the tram back down. We had a wonderfull time. The ride to the tram was in a nice bus (20 pax), we got to see some of the island and I felt save whole the time. Hopes this helps.

Regards,

Sonja
