11:20am return flight from Port Canaveral to MCO?

Hi,

 

We are taking the April 17th cruise on the Freedom, which sails from Port Canaveral, and are flying from Orlando (MCO). Our return flight is at 11:20am. Does anyone have experience taking a flight at this time? I'm pretty sure it's enough time, even though the airport is one hour from the port. We're veteran cruisers, and know all about getting off the ship quickly.

You should be fine! We were on Freedom this past March and our return flight out of Orlando left at 10am. We were off the ship as early as possible b/c we did express departure and just carried off our own luggage. We were at the airport by 830.

You should be able to do it, knowing to get off quickly. We had a private shuttle at 9:30. Even with that, we at the airport curb at 10:30. Tried to get an earlier flight, but it was not possible.

I would not try it IMO PC has the worst Customs/Immigration of any port I know of.

I have done 10 Disney and 27 Royal cruises out of PC and have never been delayed at customs.

 

In addition, I'm always home, in Orlando, by 9AM.

 

 

I do disembark early and I can't vouch for what happens to the later groups.

Remember that those who tell you "no problem" cannot predict the future. There is always the possibility of fog, weather delays, immigration hassles, traffic, etc., etc..

 

In addition, MCO has some of the longest security lines in the country.

 

Do you want to be worrying your entire cruise if you will make the flight? Do you have a back up plan if you miss the flight? Quesitons to consider!

Not sure about that. We live in FL and fly solely out of MCO w/no problems. In fact, DH and I choose to drive an additional 45 mins to MCO than our local airport b/c of the convenience and organization of MCO.

 

Would I book a flight @ that time? Nope b/c I'm a worrier and it would taint my last evening/morning of my vacay. However, it is a quick and easy trip from PC to MCO. Not for me... but GL!
