Affordable hotel in Bath

We will be traveling pre-cruise to Bath, UK in late May 2011. Does anyone know of a decent reasonably priced (no more than $150) hotel or bed and breakfast that offers reasonable parking fees? Also, is there a UK site anyone can recommend for discounted hotel prices?

We stayed in the Hilton and it was nice..breakfast included. There was a special sale in Jan. and we were there in August.

We loved Bath. Good walking city...Took the free walking tour, visited the Roman Baths, riverboat ride, Mad Max tour to amazing Stonehenge. We had taken the train from Southampton to Bath after our cruise...very easy.

As the above post mentions, Bath is a walking city, a vehicle is a bit of a millstone.

The cheap hotels are the 2 Travelodges.

The Travelodge Waterside has a car park and charges £5 a day.

The Holiday Inn Express has a car park and is about 500 yards from the very centre.

It has rental desks for Hertz and Enterprise so presumably if you are using one of these you can hand back the car for the duration of your stay in Bath.

we recently stayed at The Town House B&B.

It was GBP100 per night. Less than 50 metres to The Circus, our room looked down onto the Assembly Rooms.

Of the eight or nine places we stayed on our holiday it was streets ahead. Alan will be stood out on the street at around the time you say you are arriving with a free parking permit and directions of where to find a park - we had no issues finding one very near by. You can also pre-reserve a nearby garage for I think GBP8/night.

The room was fantastic (HUGE) and breakfast amazing. if you go to our Travelpod reviews, select the Old Blighty blog, and then go to the second last (or last?) post there is a description of our stay in bath and some photos of our room.

we loved it!!
