clott Posted November 4, 2010 #27 Share Posted November 4, 2010 The airboat rides are a lot of fun especially if you have kids. Also you can have some Florida quisine while u are there. It's called the lone cabbage and the alligator is great. It's a fun little place just don't get thrown off by the look of it. The food is good
morganboys Posted November 4, 2010 #28 Share Posted November 4, 2010 we have sailed out of pc three times and like to just rest and relax. cocoa beach will be chilly like most others have said. If you plan on doing the space center you need to call your local congressman or senators office and ask about getting free tickets. They have an alotment of free tickets they have have available to give away for each day.

Kentde Posted November 7, 2010 #30 Share Posted November 7, 2010 We will be stopping at Port Canavarel on our April 23 cruise on Enchantment of the Sea. The cruise line offers an 8 hour tour to Kennedy Space Center, but we're thinking that is very long... Do you know if there is reliable transportation to KSC that we could get at the port and then just purchase tickets on our own and stay until our attention span has maxed out? BIG TRAFFIC around here is having to wait for the second circuit of the traffic light which is VERY unusual. I recommend getting tickets thru your congressman and renting a car. Then you can spend as much time at KSC as you like, then hit the beach and RonJon if you like. If you do decide to go to KSC - check their website carefully because there is the cost of basic admission - but once inside there are several extra cost options. I really like the tour into the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station - completely sep' from KSC and where you'll see the historic stuff, like the launch control bunkers for the Mercury launches !!!! cool stull if you are like me and remember watching these on black and white TV. This tour runs ONCE a day.
Kentde Posted November 7, 2010 #32 Share Posted November 7, 2010 Thank you for the info... I'm thinking there must be some place right at the port to rent a car, right?? My next inquiry will be to our congressman about tickets. We're looking forward to this stop on our cruise.

Kentde Posted November 8, 2010 #34 Share Posted November 8, 2010 Thanks... I would think the shuttles would run throughout the day and then we wouldn't be tied into an 8 hours group tour that the ship is offering... We'll need to get some more information about that possibility.
