$140 upgrade for 2 from interior to balcony!

Wooohoooo! I am so excited! I have been watching TA's website for months since I originally booked our interior cabin and hit the jackpot today! $140 extra for a balcony on our 7 day cruise! Being that this is our first balcony (we've only ever had interiors, not even an oceanview :)) I have some questions!

We now have cabin 6367, it's a category 8B on the Victory. Will our balcony have chairs and a table? I can't imagine anything more romantic for our anniversary than having dinner on the balcony at sunset, watching the waves roll by ;) And how about breakfast? Will they deliver hot food at breakfast or is it continental only?

My last question: do you think if we encounter rough seas that we will notice the rocking more in a balcony than interior? We are mid-ship so I don't know but I have heard that interiors don't notice the rocking as much.

Thanks guys, I'm CRAZY with excitement!

CONGRATS!!:D:D You are going to love having a balcony!

I know! Especially at the price I paid... I'm almost ashamed. The only problem is TA said over the phone that I would never be able to go back to the interior!

I recently upgraded to an suite and I am FREAKING out! LOL It is our first suite and I am so excited, but worried that once I am in it, I will always want one.

Congrats! I'm with you as I have always booked inside and this will be my first balcony.

The Victory must be having a HUGE sail this week. We've changed rooms 4 times already.

We went from a 4J to 9B and still getting a $70 OBC!

Hang in there, I bet your cruise goes down even further!?

You will have 2 chairs and a tiny side table.....Carnival does not serve hot breakfast from room service......you would have to go down to the lido and bring it back up.

The side table is way to small to accommodate a meal for 2. We just bring out our coffee cups and eat our breakfast on our laps and leave the rest inside the cabin......

Carnivals balconies are too small for a larger table like RCCL and Princess.....

But that aside you will LOVE your balcony. Have a great cruise!!!

It should have 2 chairs and a little table. Don't think the rocking will be any more of an issue than with an interior. The fresh air will probably make it that much better.

Watch for flying fish. You should see hundreds if you spend any time out there.

If I was to make a guess - I think the OP and I are sailing over the holidays and the airfare are gone or through the roof. Carnival has to do something to sell the rooms over the holidays.

Hang in there, I'm sure they will drop. The last 2 weeks have been the busiest for ours.

WOW seriously?? Our sailing has been dropping like crazy and I would think that since ours sails through the holidays that it would be more expensive. However, we are getting a resident rate. I don't think that the regular rates have gone down as much but keep watching and calling!

We had a price drop back in the early summer and thats it. We are 5 weeks out so maybe we will get lucky yet!!

Yes, you are probably right. That could explain the resident rate we got because the airfare has gotten out of control to fly from where we live. Luckily we booked our flights a while back and even then, most of the seats on Delta and AA were sold out.

Dh and i just had our first balcony and will never go back:D watched the dolphins as we pulled out of port; our son told us that dolphins love for the ship to push them, it is like a free ride for them:) As long as you are mid ship you should not feel any more movement from a balcony cabin vs and inside right across the hall. the blaconies are small, but SO MUCH FUN!

6367 is over an area that may have noise- there is a band that sets up across from the casino bar and starts playing at 9pm. As long as you are not early to bed type of people you are ok.

You will have two chairs- and a small table- not one to sit down and eat a meal. and dinner on the balcony-- you have to go get it and bring it back to the cabin (im trying to remember if the Victory has trays)

here is a picture of a balcony- notice the table on the bottom right corner of the picture

room service is basic- what you see is what you get

Thank you for the photo! It's not at all what I had envisioned in my head though, LOL. I actually think it would be kinda cool to be able to hear the band, we don't go to bed early.

It's a real shame that you can't have dinner on the balcony. I think that would be a major selling point for a lot of people. Oh well, cocktails and music on the balcony it is ;)

yeah- thats what I figured-- thats why I showed you what it looks like.

Many first timers envision laying out there on lounge chairs-- or eating dinner at a table set with cloths, etc- some ships do that (Princess has some fabulous balconies.)

Hearing the band play vs hearing thump thump thump through the floor is another. Your cabin is two cabins over-- so it does make a difference

Victory is a port intensive cruise - a port every day
