gargoyle999 Posted November 6, 2010 #27 Share Posted November 6, 2010 I do not know if its an entree but the stuff white mushrooms ---yummmmm I do not like spinach- stuff makes me gag- but the waiter made me try one on one ship--or no dessert for me--- oh mi gawd- they were fabulous. Im so glad he "made" me try it. I don't like mushrooms but I was thinking of trying this on my upcoming cruise. :)
gargoyle999 Posted November 6, 2010 #28 Share Posted November 6, 2010 The shrimp cocktail was a joke...teeny tiny shimpies... I just order two! :D
SeeJennyCruise Posted November 6, 2010 #29 Share Posted November 6, 2010 Good idea on fruit plate and chocolate melting cake. I'll have to try that next trip. I also like the Grand Marnier souffle. The black tiger shrimp are tiny, but they are consistently good. I have enjoyed some of the chilled soups, asparagus, strawberry.
trvlqueen Posted November 6, 2010 #30 Share Posted November 6, 2010 In the dining room - pumpkin soup, braised short ribs, bitter and blanc - YUM (I don't know if all can be had on the same night or not, but those are hands down my 3 faves) In the steakhouse - and YES, it's worth the $30 - Lobster Bisque, spinach salad, surf-n-turf, chocolate sampler - double YUMM! dane225 Posted November 6, 2010 #31 Share Posted November 6, 2010 Filet Mignon, Lobster and Shrimp and the Prime Rib are my favs!!!!:D
marshhawk Posted November 6, 2010 #32 Share Posted November 6, 2010 I was hoping for food porn, ahh, oh my favorite-lobster with shrimp, pumpkin soup, but there is one lunch that I love....it's listed as the tomato baguette on the MDR lunch menu, but it's actually a crab and shrimp salad on a baguette, I love the salad, and leave most of the bread(even though it's good) I'm there for the shrimp!:D
TravellinGranny Posted November 6, 2010 #33 Share Posted November 6, 2010 In the steakhouse - and YES, it's worth the $30 - Lobster Bisque, spinach salad, surf-n-turf, chocolate sampler - double YUMM! Oh My.......If there is a steakhouse on the ship, it is a definite must do! Anything in there is well worth the extra $$. I have had the surf & turf as well as the lamb. Both were 5 star. And the chocolate sampler..........mmmm, so yummy :D
dustyroad Posted November 6, 2010 #34 Share Posted November 6, 2010 i can have a plain lettuce salad any old day at home so i avoid it. but i love the indian pumkin soup. any of the chilled soups are the first thing i look for also. yummm.;) then i like too try something new i never will get at home to experiment with. i have never found anything yet i dont like. but a wonderful plate of shrimp, lobster or a great steak will get me everytime also. i am so hungry now
Deckhawk Posted November 6, 2010 #35 Share Posted November 6, 2010 I order by one general rule: Order the item that the least number of people are ordering. The Veggie dish is normally respectable and the pasta can be good. They had something with Wagon Wheels and a white sauce that was quite good.... I try to stay away from the red meat in the MDR. It's too hit or miss IMHO.
falkcor Posted November 6, 2010 #36 Share Posted November 6, 2010 Where is Falkor with his food porn? LOL - i just found this, and was thinking 'this is no good without pictures'... so, since the op asked about entrees specifically, these are my favorites... lobster and grilled shrimp... prime rib... short ribs... lamb... petit filet and short ribs (they're under the filet)... and the chateaubriand... great... now i'm hungry! Crusin Karen Posted November 6, 2010 #38 Share Posted November 6, 2010 YEA FALKCOR! YOU'RE BACK!! :D I was hoping you would see this thread. Sorry I spelled your name wrong! Sure do miss that unbelievable review of yours.. when is your next cruise?? .Do you remember what that rice side dish is? It looks a bit like the one in the short ribs picture. But what I remember is that it had some minced mushrooms in it and it was kind of put on the plate in a molded shape.
clackey Posted November 6, 2010 #39 Share Posted November 6, 2010 If it is the proper cut of beef, Chateau Briand is FANTASTIC! Any meataholic needs to try this. It is a Fillet Mignon with Bearnaise and Au Jus. My mouth is salivating just thinking about it.;) Falkcor, You have got pegged!
Tbay-eh Posted November 6, 2010 #40 Share Posted November 6, 2010 Rack of lamb and escargot:D My new special friend - I love lamb but very few places serve it and even fewer have a good one. And the escargot is to die for. Thanks for the memories - I will be having this in February - twice - as I am doing a back to back.

Valmcp Posted November 6, 2010 #49 Share Posted November 6, 2010 I was on the Legend last month. Loved the duck, and the lamb entrees best. For dessert the Bitter and Blanc and the Creme Brule. I ate all the cold fruit soups which tated like fruit smoothies, Delish! The steakhouse was awesome. Well worth the extra cost. I got the surf and turf but I think next time I'd go for the Porterhouse. The caeser salad was fresh. They served Brioche ( rolls) which were buttery and fresh. The dessert I chose was the chocolate sampler which was a must try but if you opt for the cheesecake it was HUGE!
