My parents are doing the "Buy 7 Nights, Get 7 nights Free" deal. On the day in between the two cruises, when you have 12 hours in Fort Lauderdale, can you leave your stuff in your cabin onboard? I know you must get off the ship because of customs and immigrations reasons, but do you have to take all your luggage back off and do you have to go back through check-in again?

Basically, if I wanted to purchase them an Everglades Tour that day as a Christmas present, they would be able to do it and not worry about their bags and rechecking in, right?

We're on a B2B too....

I actually rang the cruise line and asked them about this.....

If you're keeping the same cabin, you can leave all your stuff in the cabin.

We're just doing the immigration thing and plan to spend a peaceful day aboard the ship.

I have cruised b2b with MSC twice, and am going again next month.

As stated above, we left our stuff in our cabin, as we had the same cabin for the 2nd week.

You must leave the ship though (around 10am, after everyone else has disembarked). You are led off the ship and then back on. The process takes about an hour. It's a bit of a pain in the neck.

If you prefer, you can leave the ship and port and enjoy Lauderdale for the day.

I, too, am doing a b-2-b starting Dec 5th. My question is - when you get off for the day in Ft. Lauderdale and want to return to the ship - do you have to go through the same check-in procedure as you originally did - or is there a special place/time/etc. to getting back on the ship.

Booked 14 days for January and hope I have the same luck as I had with other Back to Backs. Purchased my duty free booze on the first leg and they delivered it to my stateroom the last night of the first cruise meaning I had plenty of refreshment for the second leg. Actually purchased a bottle onshore at one of the ports of call and it to was delivered to the stateroom mid-cruise.

Nothing better than a nice shot of duty free Baileys on the rocks while sitting on your Veranda.

When you first board, you are given a "Sign and Sail"card. After passing immigration on the 7th day, a red sticker is affixed to that card. When reboarding, all you need do is show the card to security and board as usual. You need not go through the check-in procedure again.

Bon voyage.
