Taxi rate: Puerta Maya to La Caleta Marina?

Can anyone tell me how much a taxi from Puerta Maya pier to La Caleta Marina should be? We made the same trip this past May and got charged around $15 and the another couple on our excursion were only charged $7. I'd like to know what the going rate is, so I don't feel cheated this time!

I had seen that table online, but was afraid it was too outdated - it says 2008 at the bottom of the page. Do the taxi rates not change very often in Cozumel? Anyway, I have a rough idea of what to expect. Thank you!

True....I'm sure they can change their prices without notice....But I'm almost positive there was a sign like this posted with all the fares right by the "taxi stand". If not....you're better off to just negotiate the $7 price before you get in, or ask for their price sheet. Good-luck!

The taxi syndicate is very powerful. The rates are what they post on the board - not negotiable. The rates are per cab, not per person and that is where they get the unsuspecting tourist who pays $7.00 per person when it was $7.00 for the whole cab.

You can negotiate with some of the tour companies to get a driver for the day to take you anywhere you want.
