Fira to Perivolos

Has anyone taken a cab to/from Fira to Perivolos... if so, how long did it approx. take? How much did it cost? How is the bus system in Santorini?

It's 3 years since I had a holiday on Santorini, so I may be very out of date....there used to be buses from Fira to either Kamari or Perissa from the bus station, and a water taxi which plies between the 2, round a headland; I should think Perissa is 10 miles from Fira, so Perivolos will be about 15. I don't think the water taxi goes there, but I believe you can walk along the beach for several miles between the 2. There may be a taxi in Fira....have you thought about hiring a car? It's an easy island to drive round. If you hired from Fira, you could get to all the beaches, then end up on the more dramatic side of the island.
