Onboard Coupon Book?

We booked our cruise through Cruisesonly.com, and I asked if they had any promos going on, (shipboard credit, cash rebates, etc.) and they said we would recieve an "onboard coupon book". The agent seemed unsure of what exactly that was. Has anybody gotten one of these coupon books?

It could be if you book with master card. You get a coupon book when you board. There is a coupon in my paperwork for a coupon book for each of us to claim after boarding. My understanding was that it has a $200 value.???

Yes. we booked with mastercard and there was a coupon book with our papers when we checked in.

Didn't use one coupon out of it either.........nothing of any interest or value to us.

Yes, we go the master card coupon book. The only coupon we used was the buy 5 bottles of wine get one free.

We received a coupon book last August for our cruise. It included coupons for free entrance into the slot tournament and the blackjack tournament. Other coupons we didn't use included spa discounts, photo buy 2 get 1 free coupons, bonvoyage drink buy 2 get 1 free, and the buy 5 get 1 free bottles of wine.

I used my mastercard to book my vacation (and to pay for the whole trip) and I haven't heard anything about a coupon book...Is it a certain type of mastercard?

I am booked with two cabins on N Dawn, March 20. I not only use my NCL Mastercard to book, part of the trip was paid with credit card points.

 

Aparently NCL does not offer the coupon book for all cruises booked with Mastercard. I just called my TA to find out more about the coupon book. She checked with NCL, and was told that they are not offering the coupon book for this sailing.

No, I just used a regular old Mastercard. We are going on the Spirit on the 4/1/05 sailing. That was probably just Cruisesonly.com's promo for that particular sailing of that particular ship. We also got our room assignments in; we bought the cheapest "N" Guaranteed inside cabin we could get, and we were upgraded to category II. Closer to the Buffet! (...as if we need it).:rolleyes:

We booked directly through NCL while on the Dawn for our Canal cruise and had it credited to our TA. She told me about the coupon thing when I called to arrange final payment. I was under the understanding that it was any MasterCard. I used the NCL one and our friends used another one and we were both told we'd be getting it. If it's like one we had gotten two years ago, we didn't find much that we could use.

I used my MC back in 9/04 to book my cruise on NCL and when I received my paperwork from the TA a few weeks back there wasn't a coupon book included. I guess this promotion didn't apply to everyone..

Just back from the Dawn and booked with my MC. No idea I would get a coupon book. I got a note to go to the front desk and pick up my coupons day 2. I used the wine coupon, the $25 spa discount, and the five free minutes on the internet.

Was told at booking with NCL Latitudes that if we used MasterCard (any one) the CABIN would get a coupon book, not per person.

 

We'll se how that works out.

If you did not get one of these coupon books when you booked, and NCL is telling you that you do not qualify for one - depending on how bad you want one, they occasionally show up on EBAY. Last summer I purchased two of these books for $5.00 (for the two). Like many of the other posts, there was little that I was able to use. I did use the casino coupons and the photo coupons.

You do not get the coupon book until board the ship. You will receive a note to pick up your coupon book at the reception desk. I just got back from a cruise on the Dream last week and that is how it worked there.

We're booked on the Jewel Dec '05 and I booked thru Travelocity & also received the coupon book (will pick up upon boarding ship is what it told me). But this was only available on certain cruise dates/cruise lines and only if you paid for your cruise with any Mastercard. We also get a target gift card after completing our trip... because we booked w/a Mastercard & for booking a balcony. I checked Expedia and they weren't offering this - so maybe only certain TA's offer this promo with Mastercard.

 

We've booked thru Travelocity before (about a year ago) & used a Mastercard to pay for it - and upon returning from our trip were sent a $250 Mastercard gift card. That was a nice surprise.

I just returned from a 10 day Dawn cruise on January 30 that was booked entirely with my NCL Mastercard. In addition, I used the same card for my onboard expenses. Never got any notice of a coupon book.

I have one of the books at home. Will post the details of each coupon when I get home later this evening. As others have mentioned, not a whole lot to get excited about. More or less a buy X, get Y free deals.

There was a promotion for new bookings made in Dec. and Jan. that offered a coupon book for paying in full with a Mastercard. I called and they said they are not able to add this promotion to current reservations. Sorry I could not help with this one! Have a great trip!

Apparently, if you booked a cruise during Dec and January and used your Mastercard you get a coupon book...Unfortunately, I booked in September and paid off my cruise in December so this doesn't pertain to my situation.

I just booked Feb 11 directly with NCL and was told (without asking) that I would receive the coupon book if I booked with any Mastercard. I thought I read somewhere that it was for sailings leaving through 9/30/05. I think she said it would be waiting for me on board.

I just got off the phone with NCL..The CS REp told me that the special was run by Mastercard not NCL and that MC would know if you purchased your cruise using your MC...The rep said I should get a book after I told him I booked the Cruise 09/04 and that I paid the last payment on 12/04 with additional payments for upgrades in 01/05....

 

I then proceeded to call MC and no one at Mastercard seemsed to know anything about the coupon book. I first called AT & T Universal Card who said they didn't know anything about it..Then I called MasterCard International who didn't know anything. They transferred me over to CITIBANK who then again didn't know anything.........To make a long story short, who knows who gets the books and who doesn't....I'm sick of calling around and getting the run around.....I guess I will see on 3/19/05 when I leave for my cruise..I will let you all know!

The coupon book is available for any 2005 bookings made between December 1, 2004 and February 28, 2005, and paid in full with a MasterCard. It's part of NCL's annual Sale of all Sails promotion.
