Buffalo Wings

My wife and I are really looking forward to having buffalo wings on board the Gem... my question is, are they any good??

The Blue Lagoon has delicious wings and alot of other good things. Try the spinach dip, fish and chips, delicious breakfasts and brownie sundaes. There are also other things that are as good.

Enjoy

Thanks for the replies!

We aren't terribly picky. We like the bone-in wings at Applebees and Buffalo Wild Wings.... just not gooey, chewy ones :) We used to go for 1/2 price apps at Applebees before we had our son. We haven't gone in forever (they are pretty pricey at full price) and are keeping our fingers crossed that the Blue Lagoon will be good!

I appreciate your opinions, although I know it's always a matter of your individual taste.

We didn't care for them. So it's all a matter of taste because we don't understand the comments from the people who constantly rave about them.

I tried the wings on the Jewel, and I also don't understand all the rave. They were good, however I've had better.

They're a good solid wing meant to appease the masses (not too spicy). If you get them in the main dining room be sure you ask for more than one order. I got them as an appetizer for lunch one day and they brought me 2 wings. Seriously. I thought someone was playing a joke on me (I'm 6'2" and 260lbs). It was no joke.

Every night after a late night at the casino or bar, I would pick up a plate of wings from Blue Lagoon and bring back to the cabin. On the Gem, Dawn & Jewel. AWESOME !!!! Sailing the Sky this Monday...no Blue Lagoon but I believe the have a bar called the Longboard that also offer wings.......hope so

We didn't care for them either and don't understand why people rave about them. They were just OK but I certainly have had much better in local restaurants and in my own home. Glad there is someone else out there who didn't think they were that good:)

Yes, the Sky has wings at Longboards, which is the sports bar on the ship. You can get the wings mild or hot. We always order double.

I like most of the food on NLC ships, but don't understand the raves for the Blue Lagoon. Mediocre food and poor service, aberrational in terms of the service and food elsewhere aboard. (Yes, all very subjective. I'm happy others are pleased with BL.)

I have to say that I do agree with this. Although I have not eaten at Blue Lagoon on my last few cruises--so am hoping the food is better by now! I did love the fish 'n chips, though. And the pound cake. The spinach dip was disgusting when I had it--like water. Maybe it was just a bad day. The wings are OK but that's it. But maybe I am spoiled having lived for 15 years in Buffalo Wings country! :D
