Bringing a MacBook on board?

This may seem like a dumb question, but I was reading on the RCCL website and I was looking under the FAQs re: Internet Connection. It said that it was available in certain spots, blah, blah, blah and then it listed the requirements if you bring your laptop:

 

To use our WI-FI access, you'll need:

A laptop

Windows operating system

802.11b Wireless networking capability

 

Ummm ... does that mean that I can't bring my MacBook or my iPad??

 

If anyone could answer, that would be appreciated.

You can use Mac software/hardware. My guess is there just may not be any support/documentation if you run into problems.

We've had hit or miss with our Macs. Originally RC's Cybercabin only worked with PCs but since they have pretty much gotten rid of Cybercabin and you have to use wifi Macs are ok to use.

 

It took us awhile to make the wireless connection and I had to go to the guest relations desk to have them fiddle with it for a long time but eventually between the two of us we eventually got a signal

My Macbook worked fine on the last cruise.

I used cybercabin successfully with my mac. I have also had no difficulty connecting elsewhere on any voyage.

 

I do recall that I at times I had to use Safari instead of firefox. Can't remember if that was true (I don't think it was) on Freedom in September.
