Casino question

We are going on the Allure on Sunday. This is only our second RCI cruise and we never used the casino on our last one. Can anyone tell me about the slots on RCI? What denominations and can you bring your own coins or do you need to purchase tokens to play?

They take dollar bills, I know that one so I guess they take coins also.

:cool:Slots are fun, but biggest chance to lose on ship. Try blackjack LOL:cool:

Don't know about the Allure but casinos on most of the ships don't take coins or tokens. They only take paper money and pay out with a slip of paper (the older ships do pay out in coin but you can't put coin in-strange).

Have a great time!

I've been on the Spendour OTS, Rhapsody OTS, and Voyager OTS, and all took paper money and paid out in coins (unless you are lucky enough to win big -- I think then they pay you directly with large paper bills). The coins are dirty and will make your fingers black, so wash your hands afterward. Also I think they have moist toilettes at the cashier, but I'm not sure. Just don't touch your clothes with the dirty fingers!

We were on the Oasis two weeks ago. The Slots take bills only and pay out in slips. These same slips can be put into other slots if you wish to change machines.

Since Allure is new hopefully the casino will not smell of smoke like it did on the Oasis. They have a non smoking side, but the smell was still horrible. Nothing worst then the smell of stale smoke. UGH..

Most everywhere is going to TITO (Ticket-in, Ticket-Out) where you can insert cash or a bar coded ticket and then cash out with a ticket. Once in awhile I run into a machine that pays in coins and it is so rare now it comes as a shock. And then I move to another machine.

Cost to move coins back and forth between count room and machines is now prohibitive. Not to mention weight and fuel cost. TITO lets them do it all by computer and leave just paper money to count and reconcile.

One bonus to TITO - Multi-denomination! Many machines are selectable as to the value of each "credit" so there are many more one and two cent machines - which depending on how many lines can still start at 20 to 50 cents minimum per spin.

Just got off the Navigator a week ago and all there machines were coins except the penny were tickets. Every one was walking around with buckets of quarters putting a few in this machine then moving to the next machine so the macines did take coins.
