is the main shopping area walking distance from the port? never been here before and would like to stroll around ourselves.

 

About a 10 minute walk. You can see the Straw Market as as soon as you hit the pier and Bay Street is right there as well.

I agree with Fanofseas just go to Senor Frogs. That place is a blast. I didn't really care for the straw market it was hot and it smelled bad. Oh and the question about hair braiding does get very old, but Nassau is not the only place they bother you like crazy about getting your hair braided.
