Dream Dec. 23 - port excursions?

I haven't researched Nassau well enough, but when I go next year, I'll probably stick with a Carnival excursion there.

Costa Maya doesn't have great snorkeling. They have built up the port area quite a bit, with a pool, beach chairs (all free), a small beach, & shops. You can take a cheap cab into town and use their better beach. The places usually just want you to buy drinks from them, and they'll let you use their beach chairs for free. We used this port as a chance to just chill & relax, after running around like crazy the previous 3 days. The best snorkeling is in Roatan (west-end beach), and Cozumel has some good snorkeling. Belize can be good if you go to the right spots. Research Belize well, and remember the very long tender ride, and Carnival excursions get to go first. If you're on your own, you'll likely have to wait a couple hours.
