Cabanas are priced per cabana not per person correct?

Is there a max number of guests that can visit the cabana?

We would like to use the cabana as a "Home base" for our group of 9

Price is per party, not per person. Visitors, probably an unlimited number of visitors. Remember, the word visitor is just that, stop by for a short while.

More than four people at one time in a cabana is too close for comfort.

From what I read on the HAL site, you pay for the cabanas based on 4 people. Extra people have to pay a surcharge. We went last Feb to HMC and we are returning again this March. Loved every minute of it and we did not pay for anything extra, other than a couple of drinks at the pirate ship bar... and they do take your ship card for payment there.:)

Yes. As mentioned, the island is an extension of the ship. It is just like buying a drink by the pool on board.

The Oasis is great for large groups.

It is great for large groups but any number of people over 12 you pay for...I just wanted others to know this because someone thought you could just have 20 people there...you can, but 13-20 were all extra...and not just a few dollars either...

Does Carnival require life vests for snorkeling? (We'll bring our own snorkel equipment.)

Also....do we need water shoes if we leave the main beach area?

On their organized snorkeling trips, life vests will be provided and required. If you are doing something on your own, no.

If you talking about walking anywhere in the water where there maybe coral, you don't want to be walking there. Touching coral is often fatal to the coral.

Most areas where coral doesn't reside, water shoes would be appropriate.

This is true, but I've noticed some people don't care about killing things. To protect the coral we should let them know it often burns too! Fire coral will have the last laugh! ;)
