oldgrouchuk Posted November 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2010 Can anyone please tell us, how good or bad is anytime dining, we are mid sixties enjoy nice food and company but have found Formal Dining can get a bit menotanous after several days. So we thought we would go for anytime dining and may use the special dining where you pay an extra charge some evenings? Next question is, how would you go on with tipping, using different restaurants? Please advise.
cb at sea Posted November 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2010 If you tip as the cruiseline suggests, there's no need to worry anymore about tipping...it's all covered. The suggested tips cover ALL meals, in all of the included eating venues. Your "surcharge" for the specialty restaurants includes the tip for that venue...no need to tip additionally, unless you really want to.

And the extra charge restaurants also follow the dress code of the evening, so with those two options, you'll still have formal nights. Also, you cannot bounce between traditional dining and anytime. You have to choose one or the other. As for tipping, when you dine at the specialty, extra pay, restaurants you sign for the dinner at the end, and the tip is included. If you choose anytime dining, your tips are automatically added to your shipboard account.
