She docked that way because of the wind this morning. It was blowing as high as 28 knots. Pretty much anything 25 or greater overpowers the thrusters making turning the ship about dangerous without the aid of a couple of VERY EXPENSIVE tug boats.

In lieu of that they simply dock to the port side of the ship and make the turn upon sail away when, hopefully, the winds are less...
