CAS Question

We are booked through CAS for an upcoming cruise (a couple of weeks away) and although I sent in all information with regards to obtaining pre-approved credit line, I have yet to receive an answer. Is this typical for CAS? They have had my information for months now and yet when I called or e mail to inquire, I am only told that they "work on applications for the cruises with the closest sailing dates" which doesn't even make sense to me....as been if they had not bothered to finish the credit request and evaluation before - we are now under two weeks from sail date.

I already have credit lines at casinos in Las Vegas and have supplied ALL information requested so it is not as though CAS does not have all of the info they need to make a determination.

Just curious as to whether this is "typical" for CAS as this is our first experience with them. And you would think that they would be more proactive in handling credit line requests as it we would spend more with the credit line in place. At this point, my dealings with CAS have left a lot to be desired....so have any of you had any experience with CAS in regards to customer service-or "lack" of it?

What is CAS? The ships aren't like Vegas, by any means. Of course, if you are willing to lose a TON of money, they will accomodate you in any means you choose!

Good luck, and smooth sailing!

I was not making a "comparison" to Las Vegas casinos...I was only asking experienced CAS members what their experience had been with credit lines, customer service, etc.

And CAS is acronym for "Casinos at Sea" which is a Norwegian Cruise Lines player's club that tracks your play and then offers discounts/free cruises on your next cruise - based on play levels.

Also, I was not quite sure what you meant by the stating that "The ships aren't like Vegas" ??? But since we have plenty of experience on BOTH........I doubt there will be any "surprises."

Good luck and smooth sailing to you too! When is your next cruise? If you are a gambler, you should check into CAS......nothing like cruising for free!

Got comped a suite on our last cruise based on play from 14 day repo. Also got $400 off out bill when we got our final bill from the repo. Recieved snack almost daily (candy.chocolate dipped fruit etc) This time got only $35 off the final bill! True it was 10 day vs 14 this time but I played everyday.

Got back and called to see what I qualified for and was told 17% discount, Not even comped inside. Was informed the program had changed. I"m calling back to see if I can find out how much I played on each cruise

As for credit line. you can also do that once on board

I had a similar situation. My first NCL in '08 was fully comped BEFORE I had even sailed that line based on what their "expectation" of my gambling would be (long time Harrah's player, they have my history;)) My second cruise, this year, was deeply discounted (not comped) and I got the free drinks/free food perks, AND I gambled far more than I did on the '08 cruise just because it was a longer cruise and the weather was crappy...but I got basically nothing back at the end of the week. They definitely made MAJOR changes to their comp structure. I thought it was just me, or that someone from NCL read my blog and didn't like it :p But all of the gamblers I've spoken with say the same thing -- the comps are much stingier now.
