Anyone Encountered a Rogue Wave

Yes, I'm sure that was the cruise it happened on! It was a rough cruise with lots of folks not making it to dinner several nights. After the incident during the night, I too remember the ship recovered quickly and people were a little unnerved standing in the hallways afterward. And, yes, I still have the letter from the captain explaining that it was a wave. :p

HAL's Rotterdam was broadsided by a rogue wave off the coast of Capetown, South Africa (this was several years ago)..Thank God I wasn't on board that year ! Our CD on the Rotterdam told us about it, in frightening detail ! I doubt I'd be gung-ho about sailing if I had been onboard..:p

The Cape of Good Hope is one of the hot spots for rogue waves because of it's underwater shoals.
