mrscrab Posted December 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2010 We have just seen on our TV in Western Australia, a luxury cruise ship having VERY heavy seas off Argentina. Whilst we all have to except heavy seas from time to time. Does anyone know that this was the PA. According to the news the vessel had lost an engine and was heading to port. Hope everyone is safe, which ever flag this ship sails with.

We were origianally scheduled on this ship for Antarctica next week and then they changed the itenerary and dropped South Georgia on the dates we had planned on going. We are now on the PAII leaving 12/19 (I am glad we switched). I hope all the pax are ok on the Clelia II
Jaffa Posted December 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2010 MrsCrab, The ship is the new one that "Orion Cruises" has leased. It will be the Orion2. They are supposed to take control of the vessel in Feb.

For your 12/19 trip on the PA II, enjoy that cruise. In July while on the Silver Cloud, we had a chance to tour the PA II and talk with the staff while it was in port in Tromso, Norway. Very, very nice ship and great set-up to do such "adventure" tours. The people on the ship seemed very happy and to be enjoying both the ship and the places visited. Below are a couple of PA II pictures in case this is your first travel on this special ship. Will this be your first time on the PA II? THANKS! Enjoy! Appreciate those who have “tuned in”. http://www.boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1227923 From the deck of the Silver Cloud, you can see the Prince Albert II docked nearby. Many of the passengers and staff did tours of this ship, including seeing video of their viewings of polar bears, etc.: From the deck of the Prince Albert II, a staff geologist is explaining how this ship operates during trips to and around the Arctic, Antarctica, etc.:
