St. Lucia-Reduit Beach????

Going to be docked in St. Lucia im March. Thinking of going to Reduit Beach for the day. Has anyone been there? Comments??

:mad: We went to Reduit last Nov 2010, and took the cruise ship tour . Ahotel pass for 3hrs . The beach had been highly recomended on CC so we booked it. We did not think it was that good . Beach is a bit crowded and not so great for walking, seemed to not be very wide. The water was great tho. We would not do it again.

take note that in Nov. the island was still recovering from the devastating effects or hurricane Tomas and nowhere was this more apparent than in our beaches - the erosion and land lass was horrible. The sea is doing it's part as are our land management folks of getting our beaches back in to shape. Reduit is one of those that has been being reinforced and re-graded and is much wider than it was back in Nov.

Still not one of our favorite beaches though - we prefer Vigie beach, just a 15 minute walk from the cruise ship area. Lots of local food stands and rum shops along the beach, fairly calm water and lots of shade.
