AnotherVirginCruiser Posted February 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2005 Hi - we have a large party(5 rooms) and need a post cruise hotel in Vancouver for one night in late June (19th). Our TA says that both Sutton and Hyatt are full. We are looking at Pacific Palisades because Faimont Waterfront is $365 a night. Anyone stay there? And we can't priceline/hotwire with that many rooms needed. Experiences or suggestions welcome. Thanks.
Urban trekker Posted February 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2005 The day that you want to book is also the Dragon Boat festival weekend in Vancouver - this is one of the largest of its kind outside of Asia and is held in the downtown core - Pacific Palisades is in a good location - next to Robson street shopping corridor. Hope this helps some Cheers from Vancouver Dennis

garycarla Posted February 26, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2005 People have been getting rooms in Vancouver for 100 or less on a regular basis. With that big event in town, maybe you should opt to stay elsewhere? Why one night? Where are you flying out of? PS - Though many love to use TA's, you should always go to Travelocity or expedia.com to check what you can find.
Giantfan13 Posted February 26, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2005 I don't know if anyone else has tried this, but we stayed at the Ramada in Vancouver. It's about 4 blocks from Canada Place and it was fairly reasonable. We didn't book it thru Priceline. We had an 'Entertainemnt Book" which offers 50% off hotels, and we paid $84. for the night. We took a cab to the dock for $5.00. Don't know if this helps, but the hotel was very nice.
musicmansmom Posted February 26, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2005 try www.hellobc.com. they have package deals and you might get all the rooms you need for the night. a great site for all the hotel info and maps of where they are. good luck. Bsan1221 Posted February 28, 2005 #8 Share Posted February 28, 2005 I personally have been in Vancouver for cruises previously and on other trips. I always find great hotel rooms on Priceline.com. I always stay in 4 star hotels for under 80.00 per night. I would try that.
