Kids in Pools

Hi Everyone,

 

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere, but I am a confused newbie :eek: . . . our son will not be potty trained by the time of the trip (18 months old) do all cruise lines forbid him from the pools?

 

Are any ships or lines exceptions?

Disney ships as well as RCI's Freedom and Oasis class ships all have "splash" zones for kids who are not potty trained. That's about it. No ships have actual "pools" for the diaper set.

Sorry, but no they don't. :( Carnival is still claiming that those areas are for potty trained toddlers only. I know, it's really confusing.

Jim - check with the resort before you pay too because a lot of resorts won't let swim diapers in the pools either. It's a health issue.

Well it depends on who you ask. In my experience, no. We didn't see it enforced at all. Which annoyed me because I wish Carnival did enforce it. I was on cruises where the pools were shut down for cleaning because someone had pooped in the pool. Then we couldn't use them. :rolleyes:

Some Costa ships also have a splash pool for toddlers. They aren't very fancy, but we enjoyed the one on our ship (Costa Atlantica).
