Rome: Place to watch American College football in middle of the night??

Hi,

Family and I will be in Rome the 2nd week of January, and we are avid fans of our American college football team, which will be playing an important game starting at 2:30 a.m. 1/11 (local time). Is there any hope of finding a place to watch the game??

No, unless you could pick up a live stream on your laptop.The only channels we've ever been able to get in English in Western Europe were CNN and BBC.

When we were in Europe earlier this year, we could not even get the Olympics on our laptop--they would not show it since we were out of the US. So I don't hold out much hope other than TIVO!

Your best bet might be a Slingbox.

 

If you have a friend who owns one who will give you access, it should work. Of course you would need a laptop with Internet access in order to connect to the Slingbox and view the game.

there is a channel(and a great one) called ESPN AMERICA, spread all around Europe,broadcasts american sports.They have a lot of Bowl games in their schedule.

 

See if your hotel has the channel...maybe they have

Yes, there is a pub, I believe called Scholars' Lounge, that broadcasts all games live. It's on the north side of the Gesu' Church in the center of Rome, just east of Largo Argentina. I know they show all the pro games and many of the college ones too--check them out when you arrive!

There a a fw other pubs that show college games as well,and your hotel desk is or should be a fountain of info.
