lkakers Posted December 29, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2010 Hi, Family and I will be in Rome the 2nd week of January, and we are avid fans of our American college football team, which will be playing an important game starting at 2:30 a.m. 1/11 (local time). Is there any hope of finding a place to watch the game??
letsgo39 Posted December 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2010 No, unless you could pick up a live stream on your laptop. The only channels we've ever been able to get in English in Western Europe were CNN and BBC.
CathyCruises Posted December 30, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2010 When we were in Europe earlier this year, we could not even get the Olympics on our laptop--they would not show it since we were out of the US. So I don't hold out much hope other than TIVO!
-Lew- Posted December 31, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2010 Your best bet might be a Slingbox. If you have a friend who owns one who will give you access, it should work. Of course you would need a laptop with Internet access in order to connect to the Slingbox and view the game. Lew

photographia Posted December 31, 2010 #8 Share Posted December 31, 2010 Yes, there is a pub, I believe called Scholars' Lounge, that broadcasts all games live. It's on the north side of the Gesu' Church in the center of Rome, just east of Largo Argentina. I know they show all the pro games and many of the college ones too--check them out when you arrive! euro cruiser Posted December 31, 2010 #9 Share Posted December 31, 2010 Here's the Scholar's Pub web site: http://scholarsloungerome.com/ You could contact them and ask them about the specific game you're interested in.
