molz Posted February 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2005 Just wondering if anyone has done this excursion? I've read where many have tried but it always gets cancelled. If you've done it was it worth the $50 pp

ginger920 Posted April 30, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2005 Wackey rollers is awsome:)!!!! I went with my husband and three kids (11,14 and 16) in March of 2004. We all thought this was one of the top two excursions only second to snorkling with sea turtles in Barbados. I highly recommend both of these excursions.:) :) :)
kpotts Posted May 2, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2005 I just got back from a 7 day on the Destiny. This was the only ship sponsored tour we did. We loved it. We had our three girls (9,11,13)with us; and they thought it was so cool. I would recommend it.
adventure man Posted May 7, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2005 Hi Molz The River tubing is great, it is the dry season now so the chances of heavy rain and tour cancelations are slim to none. There is a lot to do in Dominica so if you don't get to do the tubing then they will have no problem to assist you in doing something else in the event that you can't go tubing good thing is you pay on the pier before the tour goes out and it is more than worth every penny!!:) :D Enjoy
Pwabbit Posted August 31, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2005 Is Wacky Rollers still doing tours? I would like to confirm a river tubing tour with them for November but they don't respond to e-mails. I have been e-mailing them for several weeks with no luck. Is this a tour operator that I should avoid? I would like to river tube. What are the other tour operators that offer this?
Cabin8538 Posted September 2, 2005 #7 Share Posted September 2, 2005 I just received an email from Wacky Rollers this morning. They are not the ones who operate the River Tubing excursion on the Carnival Destiny, but do offer River Tubing organized tours in Dominca. The tour that they operate through the Destiny is their Jeep Safari. I will be booking with them when we go next year!
JD75 Posted October 21, 2005 #8 Share Posted October 21, 2005 I'm going on Carnival Destiny in 1/06 and would like to go to the Wacky Rollers Adventure Park. Carnival offers the Wacky Rollers Rainforest Sensation only. My question.... has anyone gone to the Wacky Rollers Adventure Park? It opened in 11/04 and offers a tree course with a zip line, etc. I was wondering costs, etc and if it's located near the wharf the Destiny will dock at. Here's a link to a write up on it I found through Google. http://www.travellady.com/Issues/October04/WackyRollersAdventurePark.htm Any other info or feedback is appreciated

MOMofONE Posted October 31, 2005 #10 Share Posted October 31, 2005 Was that $50 pp for the zipline only or access to the whole eco-park? Do you schedule a specific time and how much time is needed for zip course? Wondering if time to do this after a morning island tour I have booked. thanks
Schplinky Posted November 1, 2005 #11 Share Posted November 1, 2005 I emailed them about the zipline tour and they got back to me the next day. They said it needs to be booked through the cruise line and here is the summary from Celebrity's site... High Hopes! High Ropes! Approximate Duration: 3 Hours 30 Minutes Adult: 84.00 (USD) | Child: 62.00 (USD) Strenuous At the reception center, you are first provided with your safety gear. The trained guides will then conduct the mandatory safety briefing and demonstration before moving to the starting point. Climb the ladder to your first platform, and then travel on the trail, advancing from tree to tree via suspended platforms that are connected by ropes and cables, all integrated into the landscape. You will cross over varied formations of footbridges such as the Indiana Bridge, Monkey Bridge and the Duck Walk Bridge. A highlight of this adventure is a Tarzan jump for the daring. The course ends with a zip line that takes you across Dominica's longest and largest river - the Layou River. The scenery from this aerial point is stunning - the experience is unforgettable. Throughout the course, the trained guides are available to provide assistance and ensure the proper use of your safety equipment. At the end this dramatic adventure, a much-deserved complimentary drink is served at our riverside bar, before returning to your ship. Note: Maximum weight limit is 250 pounds. This tour is only suited for those in very good physical condition. Not suited for pregnant women or guests suffering from heart, back, neck, or shoulder problems, as well as guests prone to asthma and seizures. Pwabbit Posted November 22, 2005 #12 Share Posted November 22, 2005 Well I was originally leery about signing up with Wacky Rollers. The were slow responding to the e-mails. However, I did finally sign-up with them. They were fantastic. My wife and I really enjoyed it. The guide was unreal. He laid on his belly on his inner tube so he could rapidly move around the river using only his hands to paddle. He would speed across the river to direct my Wife's float tube in the proper path on the river and then speed over to do the same for me. He had quite a workout. He made us feel real safe. I noticed that our taxi driver was on the road above us, paralleling us. If someone in our group felt like they had enough, the taxi would be right there. However, the ride was way too much fun to quite. Some day, I hope to go on that tour again.
