Checking In Procedure At Port of San Diego

I tried a search about the check in procedure in San Diego and the last one I could find was back in Jan. 2010. Just wondering if anything has changed. We will be on the Carnival Spirit. Is there a VIP check-in area? Thanks in advance for any information.

We just sailed the Spirit out of San Diego on 12/26. Yes, there is a VIP check in, however we did not use it. :(

San Diego is such a great port to sail out of.

Thanks Toni. This is our second time on the Spirit. The last time she was brand new. Looking forward to sailing her again. What time did you get to the port?

We arrived about 11:30 or so and were on the ship having lunch on the Lido deck at about 12:30. The rooms were ready at 1:30.

We are not VIP but found the check in quite easy.

We arrived just before noon when they started letting the first group on board.

I don't think we waited more than 30-40min. before we were on board too!!

Rooms were not ready but we had no trouble leaving our luggage in our room under the bed.

It was relaxing to eat lunch on the Lido without them.
