Rocky beaches

Last time I was in Barbados we spent a day at a lovely beach. I believe it was Payne Beach but I'm not positive. The beach was beautiful and the sand was soft with no rocks. However, when we went into the water the bottom was totally covered with smooth rocks making it extremely difficult to walk or even to stand still. Are all the beaches in Barbados like that or are some smooth even when you go into the water? Thanks.

Something tells me you had unusual conditions

perhaps due to a North Swell that may have transported sand that normally 'lives' there

-away from there!

What you describe is NOT normal for most Barbados swimming beaches. ;)

I'm willing to bet too

that within a week, the sand would have been replaced, and covered those rocks

-until the next North Swell!

Unfortunately for everyone concerned,

North Swell season is the same Oct. - March season as Cruise Season in the Caribbean.

Bummer!

Nothing we can do about it.

Tried calling God about it, but he thought we were outa place

and hung up the phone on us. Can you imagine?
