How could princess improve your cruise

Softer mattresses!!!!! Or offer really thick pillow toppers for those of us who need a softer mattress. Those "egg crates" are pathetic.

Designate one side of the ship -- the cabins/balconies for smoking.

And the other side of the ship -- cabins and balconies as smoke free. Make Everybody happy.

When cruisng to a colder climate ie: New England...Alaska, use a ship with a covered enclosed swimming pool.

Why should half the passengers be exposed to smoke? That would not make everybody happy,

Are you reading Princess ? Most of these posts have the same simple low cost requests. Also most of these posts are loyal princess customers.

Smoking seems to be #1.. I'm not a smoker myself and i have nothing against people that smoke. I just don't want your second hand smoke in my lungs.

Not a coffee drinker also. But it seems like people should be able to get GOOD coffee at NO extra cost on what you call a luxury cruise. If you need to add it onto the price, You won't hear me complain.

Beds... Well i can sleep on a bed of nails so no big deal to me.

Food is a big one for me. Yeah i know Cruising is a GREAT deal You get food, room, entertainment, and sooo much more for such a good price. We just booked with Princess for the first time and we will sail away in about 4 weeks. In order to get me to return.... I hope the food is good.

Looking forward to trying Princess Crown YEAHHHHHHHH.

We think Princess Should:

---Keep the smoking policy "as is". Don't make us stop cruising Princess like we did Celebrity.

---Better matresses like Holland America or Carnival

---Dinner menu available through Room Service for all

---Inter-active TV for account review and add Fox News (not CNN International)

---Retire the "same old" productions shows and bring in new ones.

Totally ban smoking on balconies. I equate smoking on balconies to having an overweight person take up 1/2 my seat on an airplane. I paid for the use of my balcony, but those inconsiderate smokers make it unusable at times. I'd at least like to see at least one side and/or section of balconies designated as "no smoking".

You bring an excellent point that you made a choice to go to where your smoking needs were met.

Princess could improve the cruise experience for the majority of the North American demographic who are non smokers by asking smokers to smoke in designated area.

Whether it is at a restaurant, hotel, or at work it is common for smokers to make their way outside to a designated area. Cruising should not be any different. We know second hand smoke is unhealthy to non smokers and is considered a work hazard to those exposed daily to it. So I would say the Casinos and the lounges should be smoke free as well...unless the workers there are smokers and willing to risk the exposure.

I would like to view the princess patters within a week of cruising! I would like to make reservations at specialty restaurants etc but want to get the most for my buck. If you offer and event within an hour of a dinner time offer it again so that the people on the first sitting can enjoy their dinner and the event.

I'm a big advocate for non-smoking balconies, but I don't think smokers are all inconsiderate. I think every "group" is comprised of considerate and inconsiderate people.

I don't think a total ban makes any sense at all. As long as it is legal there will always be smokers and I think they deserve a place to smoke. I do think it should be a very comfortable and inviting area with excellent ventilation.

I have left my balcony on several occasions due to smoke, but I would never dream of asking someone to refrain as long as it is allowable on balconies as per cruise line policy. However, I will continue to be vocal about changing policy.

Include soft drinks (even if just fountain) & drinkable coffee

These are not luxuries & made a world of difference to me back when I started cruising. Just knowing I could access a soft drink or a good cup of coffee when I wanted one made me feel better the entire cruise.

Cheap & easy to do but wouldn't it make you feel better knowing that as long as your cruise experience lasts these are there for you? Going without or buying/carrying/tracking cards for this is a nuisance at best.

If word got around that Princess offered this (any other 5 Star & below offer it?) the increase in bookings alone would more than offset the cost. A small investment for a huge gain!

(Some of the cost savings would come from people drinking less of the awful free juices they are forced to endure now.)

An easy & cheap way for Princess to gain an edge on the competition & maybe even give the impression they are going a little upscale.

Very strict enforcement of the dress codes on formal night and in the MDR

Organize the disembarkation procedure better (however the disembarkation on our last cruise (Sapphire) was excellent. I am referring to when the when the time to leave occurs everyone tries tom leave at once.

A MOST EXCELLENT IDEA, and indeed it is cheap and easy.

I agree, you paid for the use of your balcony.

I, too, paid for the use of my balcony.

And I am not one of "those inconsiderate smokers".

Yes, please update the beds and the entertainment. And please please please provide a good (does not even have to be great, just Good) cup of coffee.

Enforce the rules regarding "holding" the chairs. Also do not allow those with traditional dining who skip their scheduled time to come to anytime dining.

And please post dessert menus outside the dining rooms along with the lunch/dinner menus.

1) ULTIMATE BOOZE CARD:D

2) Interactive stateroom account and ability to see entire cruise's activities via the TV. Can't believe they don't have this yet with a policy like C.R.U.I.S.E. in place.

3) Don't try to sell pictures or anything for that matter during dinner. They want people to dress/behave proper, but then rudely interrupt meals/conversation to hawk stuff. Shameful!

Since this will be our first Princess Cruise, I am disappointed to hear that they try to sell pictures, books etc in the MDR. Sister cruise line Carnival doesn't do this...

There are really only two realistic things that I can think of:

Fix the new Anytime dining issues with the new early traditional seating. They need to make that be in the traditional room or find a way to do it without closing off one of the Anytime dining rooms for two hours. The waits on the Emerald in December were absolutely ridiculous and impeded on our experience.

The second issue is limiting smoking to certain areas and enforcing it. In the casino on the Emerald there was a small section with signs asking people not to smoke and there were people smoking all around there. I understand that to keep ships full they can't eliminate smoking, but they should enforce keeping it in certain sections.

Disembarktation-private access for elite/platinum members to carry luggage down to 4th floor vs. atrium stairs[safety]

Cpt Circle members receive free picture of Captain taken vs $20

Request pictures taken by crew vs asked every time going off ship/dine rms/etc

Combine positions of Capt Circle and Future Cruise crdit positions-no need have two people who only work in Office a couple hrs a day

enforce dining room attire

mandatory credit card-not cash only-creates nightmare at Pass Src desk last two days of cruise

All ships have at pass service desk printer to print out Cabin charges vs waiting in line and requesting one.

return flwrs in all mini suites

offer discounted shuttles to Hotels from ship if staying extra day

have covers for trays if bringing food to cabin

Improvements to Princess:

1. Hubby would like looser slots in the casino, and perhaps return to the $5 chips for black jack. Starting at $10 is a bit inhibitive.

2. I would like to see solo cabins as well. My adult son won't cruise with us because he has to pay double for a cabin, besides air fare, etc.

3. Coffee Makers in the cabins would be nice. I'm a coffee drinker and like a cup in the evening or before breakfast. However, I've learned to live with the coffee in the HC (sailing since 1998). The coffee in the IC is good.

4. I would like to see an extra blanket already in the cabin, up by the life vest without having to ask for one. They are good for naps and when hubby needs a cool cabin at night and I'm chilly.

5. Lower the price on the smaller photos, or make smaller photos. The cost of photos is getting prohibitive, especially if we want more than one. They "used to" be $6.95 (without adding things around the original to make an 8x10). Photos are one of my planned expenses but it's almost impossible now. We have started to just take our own pictures. Nice folks who offer to take one of us or upon request, aren't always the best photographers, either. No offense to them.

6. Keep MUTS. We sailed on the first cruise that featured it. I've seen some movies I wouldn't have ordinarily seen, even during the day. Some of the concerts are "retreads", though, like Tina Turner and Tom Jones. I did enjoy Barry Manilow's, even if I'd already watched it on PBS! The football games are the best-and we saw the World Series on a cruise ship, in the middle of the Caribbean, in tropical weather. Great!!!

7. Smoking has never bothered us in general, even with a balcony. I enjoy the cigar smoke, too--just don't blow it in my face;Cigarettes, either. I will comment that the aisles by the video poker machines in the casino seem to be "smokers row." We can be sitting there playing (a lot) when one or two smokers sit down and it can be overwhelming. I'm not sure what be done about it-it's a very confined area.

8. Finally, hubby would like to either have a beer ticket (like the sodas) or lower the price for it. I also noticed that when he ordered a cafe mocha in the dining room, he had to pay for it.

Overall, we are very loyal Princess cruisers and don't have extensive complaints.

Lynne

Princess doesn't "sell" photos in the dining room they "take" photos of you at your table. Carnival does this as well as I have one with my family from the Miracle ship.

No smoking on balconies or in cabins.

Is is okay with me if Princess adds additional smoking areas in lounges because I can choose not to go there. I cannot choose not to spend eight plus hours in my cabin.
