scuba diving

My family and I are going to the following ports. St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Luica, St. Kitts, St. Maarten. My sons and husband would like to scuba dive at one of the ports. My daughter is to young so she and I can do something else for the day. I was just wondering which of those ports would be the best choice for diving? I have also read about several zip-lines at some of the ports. Does anyone know which of those are best?

We went to Koki beach in St. Thomas. Easy dive with lots to see. It is a beach dive so no need to spend a furtune. They have rental gear on the beach. We loved it so much we went back and stayed in St. Thomas for a week.

In November, my buddy and I dove St. Lucia, St. Thomas, and Barbados. The others are nice, but St. Lucia is incredibly beautiful! Go with Irwin, who has a booth in cruise terminal. He will make your day there one of the best days of your life! We're planning on going back to St. Lucia and staying for a couple of weeks and just going diving with him. He also goes by the name "Papa." Just ask for Papa when you get off the ship and they'll hook you up with him.

I've dove in St. Thomas a couple times and in Barbados. For the easiest, least stressful diving, I'd go with Coki Beach. You can contact them online and they'll come pick you up and the reef is right offshore, so don't need to dive off a boat.

 

Barbados diving was nice, too, but requires a boat and the current was rather strong when we dove there. Could have been just the conditions on that day.

Laurie, it is probably the most beautiful underwater photo I have ever seen. We snorkeled there, and I don't remember so many bright colors. You must have been diving.

Thank you very much! Yes, I was diving. That photo was at about 60 or 70 feet deep. I just added three more to that thread. The first two are from St. Lucia, and the turtle is from Barbados.

Hi, I am a newbie cruiser but an old timer scuba diver! As a newbie I am very worried about booking an independant dive on one of the islands in case we miss our ship, we are going Celebrity and they do offer cruise excursions in St. Thomas and St. Maartin, but see diving is better in St Lucia - not sure if the cruise line diving will be good or not, booking with a local dive site directly, which I have done many times in the past on land trips often gets you to the best locations,

 

help please if anyone can enlighten!
