golfadj Posted January 16, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2011 Leave it in your cabin. However in the event of an emergency people will have problems putting it on so not sure this is such a great idea.
KroozLov'r Posted January 16, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2011 Yep, no jacket. Hi Fellow Cruisers! :) Just to clarify...your LIFEjacket is not required at the muster drill. However, if you are chilly, of course you may wear a jacket or wrap! :)

GaCruisersII Posted January 16, 2011 #10 Share Posted January 16, 2011 We just got off the Elation and we did not need our life jackets, but we did have to go stand out by the lifeboat stations.
cruiser fanatic Posted January 16, 2011 #11 Share Posted January 16, 2011 on Ecstasy you did not stand by the lifeboat stations.
planb Posted January 16, 2011 Author #12 Share Posted January 16, 2011 Thanks ! Glad we have some of the goofy pictures from past cruises with us in them , but do wonder about 1st time cruisers. Hope they have a in room program that will help those who may have concerns. But it will save time and lots of "don't trip over the straps "
TXHillbillyGirl Posted January 16, 2011 #13 Share Posted January 16, 2011 on Ecstasy you did not stand by the lifeboat stations. True. Last March we gathered in the main lounge. So the tip on not getting there first, because you have to wait for everyone in the back to leave first is so true. I bet people were still waiting to get out when we set sail. Thanks CC for this tip!!
capndinghy Posted January 16, 2011 #14 Share Posted January 16, 2011 Be sure to be the First at your Muster Station. They give prizes to the Earliest Arrivals.
j603 Posted January 16, 2011 #15 Share Posted January 16, 2011 Do they sound the ship's horn during the drill?
enveno1 Posted January 16, 2011 #16 Share Posted January 16, 2011 Don't have to bring your life jacket, but on Destiny 10 months ago we still had to go to our muster station by the lifeboats.
SandyW Posted January 16, 2011 #17 Share Posted January 16, 2011 They won't let you bring it...at least they made us take ours back on our last cruise even though we were running a bit behind. I'm not sure it's a good idea either..but the people in front of us this last time were already three sheets to the wind and I doubt anything that was said during the muster drill registered in their brains. bethm214 Posted January 16, 2011 #18 Share Posted January 16, 2011 On the Pride this week we had to go to the Muster Station (28 degrees), but we did not have to take our lifejackets. They did sound the alarm and it was a pre-recorded announcement system. Thank goodness there was warmth in numbers!
