What excursions to do?

Going on the PG on May 14 and wondering which excursions to do and how to do them. ie from the ship or plan your own. I've been on several cruises to know that the locals are plentiflul when you get to port. We are in our early 40's and healthy. We don't scuba although we are talking about getting certified on the ship.

We enjoy snorkelling but don't plan to do it everywhere we go. Where would the best place be for that? I also notice that every island has a 4x4 tour. Which would be best?

The ports are Papeete, Raiatea, Taha'a,Bora Bora & Moorea.

We are doing a 2 night post cruise in Bora Bora so we might save something for then.

Any help would be appreciated.

I did both the 4x4's, and Bora Bora held a slight edge for me because there were several locations where we stopped that had lovely overlooks. The one I was on in Moorea (InterIsland Safari) was nice, just not as many overlooks. That one also had a visit to a pineapple plantation, and the opportunity to hike up to a waterfall, but when we were there in June, there was no water. Be sure and take insect repellent with you on every excursion.

Waverunners in Bora Bora are a must do, in my opinion. I have never seen water more beautiful than this, and you circle the entire island with a couple of short stops. My kids (in their 20's) also enjoyed the shark and ray feeding. We parasailed in Moorea pre-cruise from our hotel, and that was fun.

We've been twice, and have stuck with the trips organized by Radisson. They are much the same as the others, and I don't think rssc makes a big cut. It is just so effortless doing it that way.

The 4x4 on Bora Bora is really terrific, and so is the one on Moorea. If you like snorkelling just a little bit, make sure to do the motu day at Taha'a.

The shark and ray feeding on Bora Bora is also really great. Good snorkelling and a unique experience.

Have a great time. We will be getting on the ship when you get off!
